Ran Telem has played a pivotal role in shaping the pioneering Israeli TV landscape, both in terms of importing stand-out international properties and exporting its domestic content to other parts of the world. As such, he has built a reputation as a development executive with courage and conviction.
Having served as Keshet's VP Programing since 2007and promoted to SVP Content in 2014Telem is in charge of all Keshet shows on airincluding format acquisitions and development for both local and international audiences
Telem is credited with overseeing some of the most impactful television series in Israel in recent times, most notably, Prisoners of War which became the Emmy® and Golden Globe® triumph Homeland for which Telem was personally awarded an Emmy® for his role as executive producer.Following in the footsteps of Homeland are several other Keshet shows which have flourished under Telem and adapted in the US. These include the interactive talent show RISING STAR (ABC), the family sitcom Your Family Or Mine (TBS) and the spy drama M.I.C.E (“Allegiance” NBC).
Telem is also responsible for the successful import and adaptation of the highest rated show in Israel of all time, Big Brother, which is now in its eighth season. He also developed the Israeli version of Master Chef, which in an international first, featured a live final and became the highest-rated TV event in Israel for over the last 10 years. Another of Telem’simport, The Money Drop also ranks among the country’s most-watched shows.

Additionally he is being credited with bringing to life some of Keshet’s most successful “home-grown” content including the aforementioned RISING STAR, which has crossed a new frontier in television as the first show which includes real-time voting - its audience in Israel peaked at an incredible 58% share, had a participation rate 10 times higher than previous shows with a second screen element and has gone on to sell to 25 territories internationally including the US and UK. He also recently lead the development of BOOM!which has redefined the game show genre, fusing the suspense of a blockbuster action movie with the thrill of a video game by engaging contestants in physical and mental gameplay simultaneously. It has become Israel’s highest-rated game show launch ever. Other entertainment titles under Telem include the children’s talent show MASTER CLASS - the highest rated talent show in Israel and Hungary - and the hidden camera show Deal With It which has sold to 15 territories and is enjoying an extended second season in the US on TBS.
Telem also oversees high profile scripted properties such asthe critically acclaimed drama adapted by BBCOne, The AWordArab Labor, Mother's Day and Traffic Light.

 
Appointed in 1997 as Keshet’s Head of Development, Telem has been instrumental to the success of many of Keshet’slongest-running properties. He worked on the project All Together Now that later became the enormously successful reality show A Star is Born and ran for 10 seasonsAnd in the same year launched the satire panel show What a Wonderful Countrynow at the end of its 10th seasonHe developed the nation’s first huge reality show Take me Sharon that ignited the rise of the genre in Israeland the factual entertainment show Fair and Squarewhich has run for four seasons.
Telem studied at Tel Aviv University and before joining Keshet had an on-screen presence as a co-host of the first late-night program in Israel Night Bird for three seasons and was the chief editor of the popular show Nightclub.

He lives in Israel with his wife and three children.
