Partner, Webb & Co Patentable and non- patentable subject matter: a constantly changing world Dr. Webb obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and her Ph.D. in Immunology from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot working with Profs. Ruth Arnon and Michael Sela, her Ph.D. thesis research being on the drug Copaxone.
Two years postdoctoral experience at the Rockefeller University (New York) working with Nobel Laureate Prof. G. M. Edelman were followed by an appointment as tenure track senior scientist at the Weizmann Institute of Science in the Department of Hormone Research. Dr. Webb has published over thirty original research papers, presented lecture courses and supervised graduate students as well as clinicians undertaking research projects.
During her academic appointment Dr. Webb also served as an expert consultant to the World Health Organization for four years, and took sabbatical leaves at the La-Jolla Cancer Research Foundation and U.C. San Diego.
After ten years at the Weizmann Institute, Dr. Webb switched to a career in the biotechnology industry, where she worked first at Biotechnology General Ltd. and later at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Later she trained as in-house patent attorney at Pharmos Inc. Dr. Webb is a registered Patent Attorney in Israel since 1994, and is a Patent Agent registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Webb founded Webb & Associates, Patent Attorneys in 2000 which has expanded into Webb & Co. in 2009. At present, Dr. Webb specializes in patentability evaluations, due diligence for investors, and freedom to operate opinions in view of third party patents.
